Speaker acted as ‘helpless shadow’ of PM: NC



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has said Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara failed to exhibit his independent role during the Tuesday’s meeting of the House that saw the party obstructing the parliament proceedings.

In a statement on Tuesday, the main opposition party said the speaker presented himself as a ‘helpless shadow’ of the prime minister.

The party said it was sad that the prime minister termed the protests against bills ‘anti-democratic’.
