BEIJING: The Nepali Embassy in Beijing marked the    2563rd Buddha Jayanti amidst a function on Saturday.

Nearly a dozen Chinese Buddhist monks offered prayers on the occasion for universal peace and harmony.

Nepal’s Ambassador to China Leela Mani Paudyal welcomed the attendees, saying that the teachings of Gautama Buddha were still relevant for consolidating global peace and harmony.
