Three corridor roads brought into operation

KATHMANDU: In a bid to facilitating the traffic management in the Kathmandu Valley, the Traffic Police has brought three corridor roads into operation.

The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) has opened the Balkumari Bridge corridor road, the Gopi Krishna bridge corridor road, and the Bhatkekopul corridor road into operation as per the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Management and Pollution Control Action Plan.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Division, Sunil Jung Shah, informed that traffic has eased in the Kathmandu Valley after big and small vehicles started plying these corridor roads.

The MTPD has so far constructed eight zebra crossings including at Sukedhara, Gaushala Chowk, Dhumbarahi, Chappal Karkhana and Sankha Park.

It has constructed stop line at Chabahil and Sukedhara, painted the road divider line from Chabahil to Sukedhara and removed the footpath vendors from Naya Baneshwar to Purano Baneshwar, from Koteshwar to Gaushala, from Thapathali to Soaltee Mod and in the Lazimpat area.
