NC Gen-Secy Sitaula takes initiatives to patch up differences

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula has taken an initiative to narrow down the intra-party differences that have surfaced in NC recent times.

Sitaula, on Tuesday morning, met with NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, the leader of the disgruntled faction and discussed ways out the end the current deadlock.

Sitaula quoted Poudel as saying that he was ready to ‘move together’ with party President Sher Bahadur Deuba on the basis of consensus.

“Deuba is not even ready to listen to me,” Sitaula quoted Poudel as saying.

Sitaula, meanwhile, is meeting with leaders of the talk team – Bimalendra Nidhi representing the party establishment side, and Prakash Man Singh representing the disgruntled faction.

Sitaula said he is hopeful that both the sides would reach a consensus before the scheduled central working committee on Wednesday.
