Artist Shubhadra Adhikari cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat

KATHMANDU: Last rites of senior artist Shubhadra Adhikari have been performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today. Her mortal remains were consigned to flames in the electric crematorium.

People from various walks of life including Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai reached Aryaghat and paid their last tributes to Adhikari. Adhikari, who had been suffering from asthma and pneumonia for long, died today morning. She was 73.

Having spent her long life in the film industry, she had been receiving special facilities from the government. She also served for Rastriya Nachghar. Born on September 5, 1947, she is survived by a son and a daughter.
