Veteran actress Subhadra Adhikari no more

KATHMANDU: Senior Nepali cine artist Subhadra Adhikari has passed away at the age of 73. According to her family sources, she died at her residence in Dallu at 8 am this morning.

Popular actress Adhikari has performed in scores of Nepali films and dramas. Her films ‘Basudev’, ‘Chino’, ‘Swarga’, ‘Badal Pari’, ‘Behuli’ have won the hearts of Nepali people.

She has also acted in plays including Bijaya Malla, Balkrishna Sama, Laxmi Prasad Devkota.

She had begun her film career with ‘ Manko Bandh’. She had first performed in a Newari drama ‘Kachimacha’ when she was six years old.

Her funereal rites will be performed at 3 pm at Pashupati Aryaghat today, according to her family sources.

Adhikari is survived by a daughter and a son.
