Shortage of medicines hits Siraha district hospital

SIRAHA: The district hospital in Siraha district in State 2 is reeling under severe shortage of medicines as the supply has been stopped since the last one year.

The 50-bed health facility has been running out of drugs, hospital authorities said. There are 70 types of medicines which are to be distributed from the district hospital free of cost.

Hospital medical superintendent Nagendra Yadav informed that the hospital has no stock of medicines at all. He added that private health facilities are taking advantage of the situation.

Even though the hospital authorities have informed the concerned bodies about the situation, no concrete action has been taken so far.
