KATHMANDU: The Maulik Jarokilo Party has demanded that the Nepal’s original and unique Baaghchal be included as a discipline in the upcoming 9th National Games.
Urging the government and other stakeholders to make effort for reviving the unique games of Nepal, Maulik Jarokilo Party expressed its willingness to extend its utmost support to advance this cause.
In a press statement released by the Party’s Department of Sports Coordinator Prabin Basnet here today, the Party has pressed for the need to highlight the Nepali unique sports as Baaghchal at national and international level and make them popular yet again.
Furthermore, the Party has congratulated the Nepali athletes for bringing home 51 gold medals and securing second position in the medal tally in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) held recently in the country and extended its gratitude towards the government, officials, security agencies and athletes for successfully organizing the sports mega event of South Asia.
The Party also drew the attention of the government to moot a long-term action plan for development and promotion of sport sectors and management of physical infrastructures.
Furthermore, the government’s attention was also drawn to formulate policies that enable favorable environment for the athletes to be able to find a means of subsistence in sports so that they could solely focus in sports thereby enhancing the image of the country nationally and internationally through sports.
