More than 5 killed in Iraq unrest

BAGHDAD: The toll on Friday violence reached five when two lost their lives in a blast at Central Baghdad and three more were killed in clashes with the protesters according to the security forces.

The declining instances of bomb blasts had made people expect the protests to be more peaceful till the deadly blast of Friday came claiming the lives of two and wounded more than twelve persons.

Separately on the same day, Iraqi security forces fired rounds of live bullets and tear gas towards demonstrators in central Baghdad, killing at least three people and wounding 25 others.

Despite the use of force from the government the protesters were seen getting organized immediately creating threats to the Security forces. To disturb the easy access of the protesters and also to provide security to the houses of government buildings and foreign embassies, the security forces built barriers in the bridge that led to the fortified Green Zone.
