Hanuman Dhoka, Swoyambhu to be connected through heritage trail

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City is preparing to connect Swoyambhunath Temple and Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, through a heritage trial. The two significant touristic destinations will be connected through a two-kilometer long trail.

Heritage Trail Master Plan will be announced on Thursday on the occasion of the World Heritage Day. A rally will be taken out from Bhuikhel, Swoyambhu to Hanumandhoka Durbar Area before the official announcement.

Chairman of KMC-18 Nuchchhe Kaji Maharjan said the heritage trail was proposed for the route as two heritages are connected at the shortest distance.

He informed that information centers will be established for tourists on the route. Various temples and shrines, traditional stone spouts and other heritages can be seen in the heritage trail.
