TAIPEI: Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen said Taiwan is not intimidated by China’s military drills this week, media reports said after the latest Chinese military maneuvers were denounced by a senior U.S. official as a threat to stability in the region.
On Monday, China army had conducted “necessary drills” around Taiwan, which its People’s Liberation Army said that their warships, bombers and reconnaissance aircraft had conducted the drills.
Tsai, however, said China’s actions threaten Taiwan and other-like minded countries in the region.
She added that the actions only serve to strengthen our resolve adding that Taiwan’s military forces have the determination, capacity, and commitment to defend Taiwan. (Agencies)
