Five out of 14 killed in Sindhupalchok bus mishap identified

SINDHUPALCHOK: Identification of five passengers out of 14 dead in a bus accident in the district on early Sunday morning has been ascertained.

Eight women, three men, two boys and a girl died on the spot when the bus, Ba 4 Kha, heading to Bhaktapur from Kalinchok of Dolakha skidded off the road and fell some 500 meters down.

The deceased are Suk Bahadur Tamang of Jugal-6 in Sindhupalchok, Sabina Tamang, 7, of Jugal-6, Junu Tamang of Bhimeshwor Municipality in Dolakha, Manju Tamang, 28, of the same municipality and Mahesh Tamang of Ramechhap, according to Police Inspector Ganesh Khanal.

The identification of others killed in the mishap is yet to be ascertained.

18 pilgrims were injured in the accident. Out of them, 13 are receiving treatment at HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu, two at Dhulikhel Hospital, two others at KMC Hospital and one at Sindhu Sadabahar Hospital.
