Construction works of Mid-Hill Highway accelerated



KATHMANDU: The construction works of the Mid-Hill Highway (MHH) have been expedited so as to complete the national pride project within the stipulated time.

The construction of Highway had begun in the 2007/8 fiscal year and is aimed to be completed by 2021/22.

Altogether 344-km of 1,776-km Highway has been blacktopped while the process for the contract has been forwarded to do blacktopping and opening new tracks for the Highway.

MHH Project Directorate Chief Deepak KC shared that 581-km of the road under the MHH has been completed so far. Altogether 68 bridges have been built along the Highway and 24 more are under construction, according to KC.

A new track for the road measuring 879 km has been opened while the roads built already will be upgraded on part with the standard of the MHH, informed KC.

The MHH was enlisted in the national pride project since 2012/13.
