KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday sought a written clarification from the government on efforts it has been making to protect Nepal’s land from encroachment.

Responding to writs filed by Phanindra Nepal and advocate Kanchan Krishna Neupane, a single bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR ordered the defendants to furnish the clarification within 15 days.

The bench decided to further hear the case with priority.

The writs have named Office of Prime Minister and Council of Minister, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Defense among others as defendants.
