PM Oli extends greetings on National Children’s Day

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended best wishes to all the Nepali children at home and abroad on the occasion of National Children’s Day-2076.

PM Oli, in a message of greetings today, stated that the government had accorded high priority to ensure children’s rights and welfares guaranteed by-laws and constitution of the country.

Oli reaffirmed his commitment for effective implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Children and various other national and international commitments in this regard.

“Any sort of violence, exploitation and mistreatment of children is not tolerable at any cost. The government will patronize the orphan children,” read the message.

The incumbent government has taken special initiatives to manage street children, end child labor and rescue and change the lives of children at risk, according to the message.

“The government has set goals to bring all school-age children to school within the next two years and will take educational guardianship of those children from impoverished families. Many promotional programs have been introduced to attract children to a school like a scholarship scheme, a mid-day snack facility and student-friendly curriculum,” the PM mentioned.
