KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of noted literary figure Kanak Mani Dixit on Thursday. “I am deeply grieved by the passing away of eminent literary philosopher and practitioner whose contribution would always be remembered in the days to come, PM Oli tweeted.
The Prime Minster also paid tribute to Dixit and extended condolences to the grief-stricken families. Ninety-seven-year old Dixit breathed his last this morning in the course of treatment at Himal Hospital, Kamalpokhari.
Preparations are underway to keep his dead body on the premises of Nepal Academy for final tribute. His mortal body will be cremated today at Pashupati Aryaghat today.
Dixit was the former vice-chancellor of the Nepal Academy.
