Smart parking fee slashed after criticisms from all quarters

KATHMANDU: Smart parking fee structure initiated by Kathmandu metropolis has been slashed following criticisms from all quarters.

Consumers had been criticizing the parking fee saying that the fee charged for a half-an-hour and an hour was the same.

Following criticisms, the fee for a half-an-hour has been fixed separately. As per the new fee structure, parking fee for half-an-hour is Rs 15 while Rs 25 used to be charged from a half-an-hour to one hour.

Kathmandu metropolis in collaboration with Wheels Truly Yours company had started smart parking skim at New Road, Khichapokhari, Pako, Dharmapath and Durbar Marg areas.

The company has been charging Rs 25 for a two-wheeler and Rs 80 for four-wheeler.

A fifth session of the Metropolis held on Sunday took a decision to this effect. But this decision does not apply in case of the four-wheeler.
