Heavy rains forecast in a few places in 24 hrs: MFD

KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted heavy rains at a few places in the eastern, central and western regions in the next 24 hours.

MFD has advised people to take caution predicting that the rains might trigger floods and landslides in the hilly region and inundation in the Tarai region. The cloudy and rainy weather might affect the land and air transport.

According to MFD, weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the western region. Monsoon is occurring in few places of western and central regions and in many places in the eastern region.

With monsoon trough line located in Tarai region, the monsoon is active throughout the country, said MFD.
