Minister Yadav engage in scuffle with government employees

KATHMANDU: Industry Minister Matrika Yadav engaged in a scuffle with leaders of trade union at the ministry on Wednesday.

The situation turned worse after leader of the trade union Surendra Bhandari and his supporters accused Under Secretary of the ministry Prem Acharya of taking bribe for the transfer of staffers, including Nepal Communist Party-affiliated government employee Binod Khadka.

Minister Yadav, who was in his chamber, came out angrily and manhandled a staffer asking them to come with evidence of bribe.

He argued that his ministry had the right to transfer its employee. The government staffers then started shouting slogans against Minister Yadav. However, the agitating employees left the place before the police made their entry.
