13-year-old girl attempts an unsafe abortion



BANKE: A 13-year-old girl in Nepalgunj, Banke, who was sexually exploited by an unidentified person, attempted an unsafe abortion.

She conceived a baby following a rape, police said. The 8th-grader made an attempt to terminate the three-month-old baby through medication abortion process and suffered excessive bleeding.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Arun Poudel informed that the girl was currently undergoing treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital at Kohalpur.

The girl was rescued from Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city-10 by a police patrol team.

Police have contacted her family and have launched an investigation into the case.
