Home Minister Thapa lauds security bodies’ role during Xi’s visit



KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ has lauded security bodies for ensuring an effective security arrangement during the state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Summoning the officials of the security bodies on Monday, Minister Thapa praised their roles, adding that the proficient security ensured during the visit has sent out a good message about Nepal’s security condition.

He remarked that the visit by the Chinese President was successful owing to the contribution of security forces involved from security policy formation to deployment in the road.

Minister Thapa informed the meeting that the Chinese side had also lauded the swift security arrangement. Reiterating that Nepal was committed to the one-China policy, Minister Thapa directed them to be aware that Nepal’s land is not used for anti-China activities.

Inspector General of Armed Police Force Sailendra Khanal, Chief of National Intelligence Department Ganesh Adhikari, Acting Chief of Nepal Police Pushkar Karki and Major General of Nepal Army Shahichandra Bahadur Singh and Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai were present at the meeting.

The government had deployed a total of 15 thousand security personnel from Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the National Intelligence Department during the state visit of Chinese President Xi.
