NA member demand programs in disaster-hit places

KATHMANDU: National Assembly (NA) lawmaker Suman Raj Pyakurel sought short-term and long-term programs in the disaster-hit areas in Province No 2.

Speaking during today’s special hour of the National Assembly, he said several districts in Province No 2 have been ravaged by the rain-trigged flood and inundation.

Lawmaker Pyakurel also stressed the need for prioritizing the conservation of the Chure Region, which occupies around 13 percent of Nepal’s total land.

Likewise, lawmaker Binda Devi Ale Magar drew the attention of the concerned authorities in disaster preparedness.

Another lawmaker Dil Kumar Rawal emphasized on revising the procedure for the helicopter rescue for those pregnant and nursing mothers under the President Women Upliftment Program.
