Police arrest two for theft in Pokhara

POKHARA- For last few months, reports of theft being committed were being lodged from across 11 wards of Pokhara Metropolitan City.

The abrupt rise in incidents of theft in as many as 11 ward-offices of Pokhara in recent months necessitated the Kaski Nepal Police to constitute a separate special team to investigate into the cases.

A special team of Nepal Police began to study the cases of a series of theft and found out that thieves were stealing different kinds of scientific equipment and instruments from the offices of 11 wards of Pokhara.

Special team of Nepal Police began to search for entire link of high profile theft as several groups were suspected to have been involved in it right from lifting the costly scientific instruments to selling them at different shops for getting a good return and then distributing the booty among themselves.

Nepal Police has taken two persons in custody for stealing computers, laptops, and other electronic gadgets to sell them in the open market.

Those arrested are Kishor Thapa, 51, who lives in Kalikachok, Pokhara originally a resident of Kathmandu and Roop Chandra Gopali, 36, a shopowner in Kalanki, Kathmandu ‘Computer Solution’ originally from Makwanpur.

Nepal Police arrested Kishor Thapa on Shrawan 26 when he was in Shahid Chowk, Pokhara. He was making suspicious movements when police took him in custody.

The next day on Shrawan 27, the proprietor of Computer Solution Roop Chandra Gopali was arrested along with stolen electronic goods and gadgets.

Police are further making an inquiry and looking for others involved in a series of theft. Kishor Thapa is suspected to be a drug addict (and a peddler) also as ‘Brown Sugar’ (2.36 gm.) has been confiscated from his house along with other electronic gadgets such as computers, laptop, and others.

Nepal Police has also seized 17 pieces of monitors, 9 CPUs and 3 laptops from the shop of Roop Chandra Gopali. These links are vital for the special team of Nepal Police and will further help to bust the entire network as many more are expected to be arrested.
