Om Hospital vandalized, police lob tear gas canisters

KATHMANDU: Scores were injured in a clash between police and protestors at Om Hospital in the Capital City on Friday.

The law enforcement agency baton charged and lobbed four shells of tear gas canisters to disperse the irate demonstrators as the latter resorted to vandalism at the hospital over the death of a woman.

The hospital has remained tense for the past few days following the death of Ram Pyari Thapa, 50, of Indrawati-10 in Sidhupalchowk who underwent gallbladder surgery last Friday.

Her relatives have alleged the doctors involved in the operation of negligence.
