Home Minister Thapa directs police to not avoid responsibility



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Thursday has asked the police department to not stay away from fulfilling their responsibility.

“Even a small mistake of police may become counterproductive to the whole police department, the government and the state. You (police) do not have the rights to stay away from your responsibilities,” he said at a concluding session of the police inspector basic training here.

Praising Nepal Police’s work, he said they would have an important role in realizing the country’s goals of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’.

The Minister also directed those police inspectors who have successfully completed the training session, to discharge their duty with responsibility.

On the occasion, a total of 91 police inspectors including nine women who underwent the training session comprising the program of Post Graduate Diploma in Police Science were presented with certificates.
