HK leader promises housing, jobs to appease protesters

HONG KONG: Hong Kong (HK) leader Carrie Lam has vowed to prioritize housing and jobs in a bid to appease pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong after three months of unrest.

Lam said in a Facebook post that her government would increase housing supply, with more policies to be announced.

Her announcement comes at a time when several young protesters are angry at sky-high living costs and a lack of job opportunities. (Agencies)
