Second South Asian youth conference to take place in Bangladesh



KATHMANDU: The ‘Second South Asian youth Conference-2019’ is taking place in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The conference aiming at exchanging experience and opportunity for advancing collective leadership of youths and further strengthening regional unity is scheduled for 18-19 September.

Youth representatives from the South Asian countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and India are participating in the conference organized by Global Youth Parliament. On the occasion, youth leaders active in different genre in the South Asian region would be felicitated and wider discussion on the themes of youth leadership development, sustainable development, professional leadership, tourism, education, health, justice and technology. The conference would also adopt declaration incorporating the themes, informed Chairperson of Global Youth Parliament Diwakar Aryal.

As many as 600 youths representing different countries are taking part in the conference. Global Law Thinker Society of Bangladesh is coordinating the conference. The first conference was organized in Kathmandu in 2017. The Global Youth Parliament which was established in 2011 to serve the objective of developing leadership of youths has its branches in 43 countries across the glove. The Global Youth Parliament has been working in the areas of ‘Youth SAARC Conference’, ‘Global Youth Peace Conference’, ‘Asian Youth Assembly’ and ‘Global Youth Leadership Summit’, among others.
