40 injured in bus collision, eight critically



SURKHET: At least 34 people were injured when two buses collided each other at Sattari of Bheriganga Municipality-2.

In the accident happened Friday evening,  the  Surkhet-bound bus, Na 4 Kha 3827, and the bus, Na 6 Kha 9670, en route to Surkhet from Nepalgunj from  Butwal collided, leaving  34 injured.

Among them, eight are in critical,  said Spokesperson at District Police Office, Surkhet, DSP Pradip Bahadur Chhetri.

The incident site lies in a distance of 37 kilometers from Birendranagar, Surkhet.

The driver of the second is among those severely injured in the accident. He is Tek Bahadur Kunwar, 26, of Nepalgunj sub-metropolis-26. He has been sent to Nepalgunj for treatment.

Jeevan Rana, the driver of the first bus, is on the run after the accident and police are searching for him.
