5 held with 1.6 mln illegal Indian currencies



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested five individuals with IRs 1.6 million Indian bank notes from a hotel based in Thamel.

A police team deployed from Metropolitan Range Office, Kathmandu rounded up five people with the above-mentioned amount in 1000 and 500 denominations.

According to DSP Homindra Bogati, the arrested are Ram Bikram Khadka of Dolakha, Shambhu Pariyar of Dhading, Santosh Thapa Magar of Kaski and Dhandhwaj Tamang and Rajendra Ghising of Kavre.

The arrested have been sent to the Department of Revenue Investment for further investigation, said DSP Bogati.
