Man found dead in Kanchanpur canal

KANCHANPUR: A youth was found dead in the Mahakali Irrigation Canal at Sisaiya at Bedkot in Kanchanpur Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Santosh Panta, 19, of Krishnapur Municipality-2 in Kanchanpur district.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, Narendra Chand said that the youth was found drowned when he was spotted.

DSP Chand said according to the preliminary information, the youth could have fallen off his motorcycle and drowned in the canal.

Further investigation is underway, he said.
