HUMLA: The normal life has been hit due to snowfall in Simikot, the district headquarters of the district.

Flight services to and from Humla district have been affected due to snowfall that started since 6 am due to the westerly winds.

The flights of Tara, Sita, Summit Airlines which were supposed to take off from Nepalgunj and Surket to Simikot have been hit.

With the snowfall, the mercury has dipped to 6 degree Celsius forcing the locals to stay indoors. Similarly, schools and shops have been affected. Northern Namkha Rural Municipality has witnessed heavy snowfall, according to District Police Office, Humla.

However, the snowfall has brought cheers to the farmers in the southern belt of the district. The snowfall makes the soil loose for the famers to till the field and helps grow winter crops, said Fagune Mahatara of Sarkegadh Rural Municipality.

Likewise, the snowfall has also occurred in Dolpa and other adjoining districts.
