23 infected with dengue in Banke



NEPALGUNJ: Various health facilities in Banke district have arranged for the effective treatment of dengue patients. Even the private hospitals and local health posts have begun providing service to dengue patients with the coordination of the local administration and the District Health Office here.

The District Administration Office has urged everyone to adopt adequate measures to control the dengue spread. Chief District Officer Kumar Bahadur Khadka informed that the concerned stakeholders were asked to coordinate each other for the control of the epidemic. The District Public Health Office has so far recorded 23 dengue contracted people.

Chief of Bheri Hospital, Dr. Rupanand Adhikari, informed that seven people suffering dengue were receiving treatment at the hospital. Other health facilities have also been providing the treatment, it is said.

Dr. Adhikari, however, said most of the patients in Bheri Hospital were from out of Banke district.

Meanwhile, Duduwa rural municipality in the district has begun spraying insecticide at various places filled with mosquitoes as a preventive measure.
