Fire breaks out at Teaching Hospital premises, contained

KATHMANDU: A fire erupted at the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center located at the premises of the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital on Monday evening.

Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj said that the fire that broke out at the fifth floor of the center was doused with the help of a fire truck backed by police personnel.

The fire caused minor damage, police said, adding that teams of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force were deployed following the fire.

The hospital stated that patients were unharmed, adding that the fire was caused by a likely short circuit.
