KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Dr. Shashanka Koirala has left for Thailand. The leader set off on a weeklong visit to Thailand to see off his daughter to the United States of America.

The visit comes at a time when ex-King Gyanendra Shah is in Thailand. The trip has been dubbed suspicious as currently comments are being made that a suitable environment for restoration of the monarchy is in place with many speculating that the leader might meet the Ex-King.

“He has left for Thailand to see off his daughter,” said leader Koirala’s aide Bharat Tiwari, “He will return to Nepal in a week and will not hold any political meetings.”

Leader Koirala has been rooting for a referendum to decide republicanism and secularism.
