Police arrest two ‘killers’ based on victim’s IMEI mobile number



GAUSHALA: Mahottari Police has arrested two people involved in the murder of a woman in the district based on the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number of the pone carried by the victim.

The arrested are Dashai Thakur, 41, and Raj Kishor Giri, 36, of Gaushala Municipality, said Area Police Office, Gaushala during a press meet organized this morning.

Acting on an FIR filed by the family of the victim, Police had started investigation into the murder of Anju Kumri Shrestha of Gaushala Muncipality-10. She was slain with a sharp weapon in her house at night on June 20. An employee of Nirdhan Utthan Bank, Shrestha had died while being rushed to hospital.

Police rounded up two people from their houses based on the IMEI number of the mobile used by Shrestha.

According to Area Police Office, Gaushala, the mobile used by the victim was found in the house of Giri. The armed outfit had looted the mobile of the victim, too.

Police said they are investigating the case by taking them on a seven-day remand.
