PM Modi’s plane not to use Pakistan airspace

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plane will not fly over Pakistan airspace to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, Indian media reports have said quoting India’s foreign ministry.

According to reports, the Indian government has explored two options for the route to be taken by PM Modi to Bishkek. The Ministry of External Affairs, the aircraft carrying PM Modi will fly via Oman, Iran and Central Asian countries to Bishkek.

Earlier, Pakistan had approved what has been said ‘in principle’ India’s urge to allow PM Modi’s aircraft to fly over its airspace to Bishkek to attend the summit SCO summit on June 13-14. (Agencies)
