PM Oli rubbishes reports of heavy traffic on Mt Everest (with video)

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli said Nepal would receive the foreign loan on the basis of the country’s needs and priorities.

In an interview with BBC World, PM Oli stated that the Nepal government has the capacity to manage foreign loan. To a query about Nepal’s participation in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), PM Oli said that Nepal government invites investors to invest in Nepal. The country will receive a loan based on the country needs and priorities, not rampantly.

Likewise, he also said that Nepal has always remained cautious of environmental degradation as well as the carelessness when it comes to carrying out development projects adding that the country has substantial contributions to strike an environmental balance.

He informed that this year the Nepal government would initiate a campaign to plant more than 10 million trees.

A video was also shown where Mount Everest summiteers had to wait for hours in the queue while scaling the world’s highest peak. On the issue, PM Oli described the situation as an unnecessary hype while brushing aside rumors that the government granted over permissions to climb the Everest. He said that the climbers waited for long for good weather saying that the situation is not as complicated as reported.
