5.1-magnitude earthquake jolts far-west Nepal, epicenter in Dailekh



KATHMANDU: A mild earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richer scale jolted far-west Nepal on Sunday.

According to the National Seismological Center (NSC), the quake was recorded at 12:36 am with epicenter in Dailekh. The tremors were also felt in adjoining districts.

There are no reports of damage by the quake.

Nepal lies in a seismically active zone with a high probability for a massive earthquake.  A 7.8-magnitude earthquake in 2015 killed over 10,000 people.
