Tusker-attack claims two in Kanchanpur

KANCHANPUR: Two people have died after being attacked by an elephant at Mahakali Municipality-2 in the district.

The deceased have been identified as Basanti Bhatta, 38, and Bhuri Devi Bohara, 45, while Sarita Ojha, Uma Devi Saud, Lalita Bohara, Sunita Bista sustained critical injuries.

The two injured are undergoing treatment at Mahakali Zonal Hospital, according to District Police Office, Kanchanpur.

Locals said they chased away three elephants involved in the attack this morning .
