NCP secretariat meet begins at Baluwatar



KATHMANDU: A secretariat meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has started at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Monday.

The meeting is expected to sort out the remaining task of the party unification, said NCP spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

The meeting is likely to elect the leadership of the election commission, disciplinary commission, senior communist forum, national council and national advisory council among others.

According to sources, the NCP chairperson duo KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal reached a deal on the leadership appointment for the remaining commissions of the party in yesterday’s meeting.

The meeting had also touched upon the change in the ministerial portfolios.

This agenda can be included in today’s secretariat meeting. However, spokesperson Shrestha denied it being included in the agenda.

Other leaders present in the meeting include NCP Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, general secretary Bishnu Poudel, secretariat members Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Iswar Pokharel, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Bamdev Gautam, and Narayankaji Shrestha.
