KATHMANDU: A Data Center constructed at Hetauda with an objective of protecting important information and business documents of government and private sector would come into operation soon.
The data center has been constructed at a cost of Rs 370 million with the support of Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The data centre is the back up of central data center of Singha Durbar. Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Banskota, is scheduled to inaugurate the data center.
Executive Director of the National Information Technology Center, Sunil Poudel, said that the center would come into operation soon as the center was completely ready to keep data as ‘back up’. The KOICA handed over the building to the government after constructing it through Korean technology.
The center was constructed to save the important documents from any-type of natural disaster and human error. E-service including national identity card, machine readable passport, and electronic signature would be provided in the center.
