Baglung to offer paragliding during fair



BAGLUNG: Paragliding flights have been successfully tested at Panchakot of Baglung municipality-6, a tourist destination.

Pilot Krishna Bahadur Sunuwar flew a paraglider from the area and landed at the playground of Dhawalagiri Multiple Campus.

The test flights targeted operation of paragliding flights for the Baglung Fair scheduled for December 27 to January 5, said Baglung Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Alternative runway for paragliding is being sought as the Fair will take place at the playground of the campus, said Baglung CCI’s General Secretary Naresh Kandel.

“We may determine Upallachaur and Bus Park area as the runway,” he added.

Panchkot is fit to operate paragliding flights in technical and environmental view, said pilot Sunuwar.

The Fair aims to promote tourism through paragliding and Visit Nepal Year, 2020, said the Fair organizers.

Those visiting the Fair can fly a paraglider by paying a certain amount of fees, they said, adding that preparations for it are in full swing.
