Nepal sees growth of tourist arrival in October



KATHMANDU: The arrival of tourists in Nepal has increased by 10% in October.

A total of 143,870 tourists arrived in the country in October. Of these, 123,267 visitors entered the country by air and 155,058 came overland.

According to Nepal Tourism Board, a total of 975,557 visitors arrived in Nepal in the first ten months of 2019.

Tourist arrival from India increased by 9.1% and reached 12,707 in comparison to the figures of October last year.

The overall arrivals from SAARC countries recorded a growth of 7% in October in comparison to the same month last year.

“The growth of international arrivals was possible only because of the synergy in our efforts along with the private sector, diplomatic missions, Nepalese diaspora, the media, and other stakeholders,” said Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board.
