KATHMANDU: Police have arrested around a dozen protesters who were sloganeering near the Embassy of China in Kathmandu against women trafficking in China.

The protest was held at a time when Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is currently on a three-day visit to Nepal, according to woman activist Sita Jyoti.

The protest was basically aimed at drawing the attention of the Chinese Foreign Minister.

The protesters affiliated with the Border Protection Committee had earlier submitted letters to concerned bodies alleging China of encroaching upon Nepali land.

They have been detained at the Kamalpokhari Police Circle.
