Pope appeals for peace in Sudan



VATICAN CITY: Pope Francis has appealed for peace in Sudan after a bloody crackdown on pro-democracy protesters by security forces in Khartoum last week.

The Pope said that the news coming from Sudan is giving pain. He said that he would pray for the people and called for peace and dialogue.

According to opposition medics, around 113 people were killed in last week’s violence in the Sudanese capital. Meanwhile, the government has put the death toll at 61. (Agencies)
