KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is embarking on an official visit to two ASEAN countries – Vietnam and Cambodia – on Thursday.

Prime Minister Oli is undertaking this visit in order to build ties with small and developing countries, breaking the trend to build up ties only with neighbors and powerful countries.

Oli will first fly to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. He will hold a bilateral meeting with his counterpart Phuc as well as with the chairman of the National Assembly during this five-day visit.

On May 13, Oli will leave for Cambodia from Vietnam on a three-day official visit.
