59 take survey permits for solar power in last three years



KATHMANDU: Department of Electricity Development has given survey permissions to 59 solar energy projects in the last three years.

The department has issued licenses to different projects to generate a total of 481.97 megawatts electricity from solar projects.

As per the record maintained by the department, the number of applications filed asking for permits and issuance of licenses has increased significantly since the last fiscal year.

In the fiscal year 2018-19, 25 projects to generate 340.56 megawatts have received survey permits and in the current fiscal year, permits have been issued to nine projects for generating 61.59 megawatts.
