Nepali Congress demands Nepal Communist Party to desert party office

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has demanded the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) shifts its party office from a building constructed over a government-owned land.

Speaking at a press conference organized by the party on Thursday, Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma said that his party has been saddened and shocked to know that NCP has been leasing the building over a government land as its party office.

“We hope the party will desert the building with an apology,” he said.

The remark by the main opposition party comes on the heels on a media report that the building was constructed on government land.

The then UML had leased a building of Pasang Lhamu Mountaineering Foundation in Dhumbarahi, KMC-4 after its headquarters in Balkhu was destroyed by the 2015 earthquake.
