KATHMANDU: Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Biswakarma appointed Ramesh Silwal as the new member secretary of National Sports Council (NSC) on Monday.

The post was lying vacant after the term of Keshav Kumar Bista ended on June 24.

Silwal is believed to be close to Prime Minister KP Oli. He has also served as the Chairman of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy.
