KATHMANDU: Disgruntled with the party unification with the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum (SSF), over a dozen leaders of the Naya Shakti Party (NSP) held a ‘closed-door’ meeting alleging the party leadership of uniting with SSF without their consent.

The meeting held at the residence of NSP leader Madan Rai accused Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai for making what they said ‘unilateral decision’ of unification with the Upendra Yadav-led SSF party.

Leaders, including Kalpana Dhamala, Devendra Parajuli, Ramrijan Yadav, Bhakta Bahadur Shah, Sona Syangtan, among others participated in the meeting.

They expressed disenchantment over the unification process, which they claimed has not been inclusive. Moreover, the lambasted the leadership of practicing nepotism and favoritism while giving the responsibilities.

“The party looked like a family-run outfit,” Madan Rai told Khabarhub adding that members of the kitchen cabinet have been given the priority while ignoring the genuine party workers.

They have decided to submit a letter to Dr. Bhattarai and Upendra Yadav urging them not to deviate from the party ideology, and move forward by correcting the flaws.
